Fahri Hamzah: Indonesia Has Entered Not Prosperous Category

Buletin Nasional. Deputy Chairperson of the Indonesian House of Representatives Fahri Hamzah revealed that the Indonesian nation was born from thinking of a group of people who were initially limited, but gradually became a wave and eventually became shared feelings and thoughts.

Because Indonesia was born from a process of thought, continued Fahri, the biggest crisis in this republic will not occur due to the economic crisis because the economy in Indonesia is still an economy, even an economy based on natural resources.

"I have just written a book whose title is 'Why Indonesia Has Not Been Prosperous', besides if we compare it statistically, Indonesia is in the category of not yet prosperous," Fahri said in a written statement on Monday (11/19/2018).

He conveyed this in the declaration of the Indonesian New Direction Movement (Garbi) in Binjai City, North Sumatra, at Koetaradja Coffee on Saturday (11/17) with the theme 'Picking Up Leaders and New Directions for Indonesia'.

Fahri also considered that when compared with independent countries together with Indonesia, the income per capita of the Indonesian state is still in the low category. Each person only has an income of around USD 3,800 or a maximum of USD 4,000 per year, which if it is not allocated reaches Rp 50 million per year per person.

In fact, according to him, there are still lower than that. That is on average, if there is an average like that, it means that there are only Rp 20 million or Rp 10 million and so on down.

"While a country like Malaysia has been dozens now, Thailand has 8 thousand, and even Vietnam has only 6 thousand. If we call China, the country has 15 thousand, South Korea has 24 thousand. Moreover, Singapore has 50 thousand, so too Japan, which when we were independent, they were bombarded with atomic bombs that destroyed Hiroshima and Nagasaki, they were 40,400, while we were still 3,800, "he explained.

So, continued Fahri, in that category, indeed, Indonesia's statistics are still very low. But Indonesians find it difficult for example to arrive like Venezuela or Latin American countries now that there is no electricity.

"It seems that if we are, among the reasons we don't feel poor is because poverty is sucked into an extraordinary system. I often say that religion makes us feel never poor, because it always teaches to be grateful and accept life as it is , "he said.

Not only that, according to Fahri, even religion also has a procession that makes it all alleviate poverty together. In addition to zakat, infaq, and almsgiving, at least a month (in the fasting month) no one is hungry because there is free breaking fast and sahur which is almost a month to find food everywhere.

"Religion absorbs the inability of the state to overcome poverty," said the DPR member from West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).

Then, said Fahri, it was also taught that our family system absorbs poverty. No one allowed a poor child or his brother, the Javanese, to say 'manganese or manganese is collected'. This is a tradition so that poverty is absorbed in the household.

"Try to look left and right, each of our households, especially large families, how many people in our family actually have work and work? All are supported and absorbed in the family system. So is the social system," he said.

Furthermore, nature in Indonesia, such as forests, seas, and rivers, is still supporting the poverty of the Indonesian people. So, Fahri said, if the crisis in Indonesia is difficult, an economic crisis will occur. The crisis in Indonesia will occur if the initial steps to form Indonesia, in the form of stretching thoughts are gone.

"This is what I often remind Mr. President who is too busy building physical infrastructure, but rarely converse with the people. What destroys Indonesia is not the absence of physical infrastructure, which destroys Indonesia, when the mind is not respected," he said

"Infrastructure thinking and conversations between fellow citizens that do not exist. That will destroy the Indonesian nation. And, that is the anxiety that we face today, because the conversation no longer finds a good structure," concluded Fahri.
